Getting started with OpenAI
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”A ChatGPT account with access to Developer Mode / Connectors (this is a developer/beta feature; if you do not see it, check the ChatGPT Settings → Connectors → Advanced or your workspace admin). This is a paid account.
Add the connector in ChatGPT
Section titled “Add the connector in ChatGPT”- Open ChatGPT in your browser → Settings (click your avatar).
- Go to Connectors in the sidebar.
- Enable Developer Mode (often under Advanced). If you don’t see this, your account/plan or workspace may not have the feature enabled.
- Click Create / Add connector → choose Custom connector / MCP (or “Remote MCP server”) if there’s an explicit option.
